As nights get chilly and the stars come out, we are bringing to Rotherhithe the best cabaret and singalong fun, possibly ever. Cosy up with us as, yes, we bring you the four Cs:  Cocktails, Cabaret, Campfires and Candlelight

Invite any cabaret artist to perform down a shaft and they're going to run riot with the double entendre. London cabaret doyenne Tricity Vogue returns once more to play those “shaft” gags to the hilt, and so will her special guest each evening, as they perform surrounded by authentic vintage Victorian filth and smut on the walls – possibly the only grade II listed smut in London. There'll be three deliciously saucy bite-size chunks of cabaret during the night, each one different, and each one including a raucous singalong to warm your cockles. Because everybody needs their cockles warming down a shaft.

The campfire in our roof garden will be roaring as usual to keep those cockles warmed and your complimentary marshmallows toasted. The deluxe hot rum toddy stand will insure your blood is pumping and your singing voice warmed up.  Then descend the brand new grand staircase of Brunel's underground  Grand Entrance Hall, described as one of the most exciting new performance spaces and cultural attractions in London today for a very special SINGALONGA knees up with some amazing cabaret talent. And of course we will be serving our beautiful seasonal botanical cocktails and Hiver honey beer in our underground cocktail bar.

Deliciously sizzling and seasonal street food will be available to keep your cockles even warmer. Guests are invited to bring their cocktails up into the garden, their hot rum toddies into the underground chamber, their street food into both - we really are very relaxed.  Ms Vogue and her special guest will perform at regular intervals giving you time to sample our delights above and below ground. These promise to be magical nights filled with mirth, merriment and marshmallows.  The perfect date night or meet-up with friends. We do hope you will join us. Oh and please dress warmly - we can warm your cockles with a hot toddy or two but it gets blimmen' chilly!

Sat 24 Nov Midnight Apothecary Goes Down the Shaft THANKSGIVING SPECIAL with TRICITY VOGUE & THE BLUESTOCKING SOCIETY (AUDACITY CHUTZPAH, GINGER BLUSH & VICTORIA FALCONER)

Tricity Vogue has been delighting audiences in London and across the UK with her cheeky ukulele-strumming cabaret antics for over a decade, sometimes in man drag, sometimes in vintage siren guise, and sometimes in an improbable blue rinse wig. She's also the bandleader of Tricity Vogue's All Girl Swing Band, and a regular headliner on the international Ukulele Festival circuit.

'Miss Vogue and her ukulele - it's cabaret to run down side-streets for. Just get there early' Time Out London Critic's Choice

'Celebrated London cabaret singer Tricity Vogue loves performing, and it shows. The big red smile on her face is contagious from the start.' **** Broadway Baby

'Tricity Vogue - she of the twinkly eye, swoonsome voice and cheeky ukulele'. Time Out London Critics’ Choice

'A storming slice of cabaret.' **** ThreeWeeks

'Anyone else a massive fan of the divine Miss Vogue and her ukulele? Thought so'. Time Out London Critics’ Choice

The Bluestocking Society will be offering us Thanksgiving Down the Shaft entertainment with a cheeky twist for one night only on Saturday 24 November.  The Bluestocking Society are a collective of delightfully off-the-wall women cabaret performers who enjoy revisiting history with a large dollop of wit and mischief. Join them to find out what really happened in the first romance to blossom among the Mayflower pilgrims after their arrival in the New World. Featuring ukulele-wielding storyteller and songstress Tricity Vogue, award-winning performer Ginger Blush, and celebrated cabaret clown Audacity Chutzpah.

What a Lovely evening we had ! We got to the venue very eaaiy and found our way in. We went upstairs to the garden as there wasn’t any signage outside to tell you where else to go. It was a beautiful rustic set up with garden candles burning and a fire for toasting Marshmallows and a hot toddy bar that smelled devine. There was not a lot of room up there once all the seats were taken and it was a bit confusing where to go as we hadn’t been before. We established that cocktails were being served in the main room so we made our way downstairs. Entering the room filled us with excitement as you were greeted well at the entrance to exchange ticket for wristband, and got our first glimpse of the fantastic circular space. The midnight apothecary logos projected on the walls, the subtle lighting and swing music playing, you can’t help but drink it all in. There were only a handful of tables at the front so we bagged one of those and got in line to get drinks. The bar system could do with a little refinement as we order and pay and then wait to be called to receive our drinks. It got a bit messy in busier Moments. There were 3 acts from The Blue stocking Society and the Fringe Wives Club, half hour sets at 15 mins past the hour. Very entertaining! A fun filled experience that we won’t forget in a hurry. After the first act we went back upstairs and headed towards the museum where the Picalilli Caff had set up a small offering. 2 cockle warming dishes available (one meat, one veggie) we had one of each and neither disappointed in flavour! £7/8 per dish - slightly overpriced for the portion size. We attempted to make our way through the cocktail list, but at £9 a pop we picked out our faves to get on with. Beautifully presented but pre made so the price seemed a little ott - options were limited on alternative drinks. In summary, great venue, hysterical entertainment , mildly overpriced food and drinks. We would definitely return - Tricity and friends had us laughing and singing from end to end! Hi Theresa, I'm delighted you had a lovely evening and thank you so much for giving us 5 stars. It's always useful to hear what worked well and what would make your evening even more special. We'll take your comments on board. Regarding our pre-batching of cocktails, I just want to reassure you that we make all our own infusions and syrups and use the finest quality premium spirits - and very generous measures of them by most bars' standards! When you say they are pre-made, I just want to clarify that we batch up the drinks each evening into kilner jars prior to service starting so that you are not having to wait long for your drinks, This is a common practice in many high-end bars and in no way affects the quality or flavour. It simply leaves you more time to enjoy the show rather than waiting for your drinks!

Friendly staff good venue one of the acts that appeared a male thought it was perfectly ok to do gags about people with disabilities which we found quite alarming but apart from that good place to go ( maybe mention on your web page it’s not suitable for people who are disabled) Visited Brunel Museum, Engine House, Underground Grand Entrance Hall & Roof Garden on 2018-10-20

I think the cabaret is good fun and the venue is quirky, but completely inaccessible - friends ofine who might struggle with the stairs would also do badly in the cold. That's the only reason I wouldn't recommend it. Visited Brunel Museum, Engine House, Underground Grand Entrance Hall & Roof Garden on 2018-10-06

What a fantastic night in an amazing venue with super friendly staff , The cabaret was fab - stylish , saucy and really well paced , which meant there was plenty of time for eating delicious food from the Picalilli Cafe pop up (Surrey Docks Farm) and working your way through the cocktail menu . . And then just when you couldnt think it couldnt get better ... hot toddies and toasted marshmallows on the roof in the garden at the end of the night.
